Backstage has been owned and operated since 1980 by Cynthia Thompson.
She has a College Degree in dance from Sam Houston State University. She has studied dance since she
was 4 years old and is highly trained in Classical Ballet. She has also studied the Modern and Jazz
techniques throughout her life. Much of her training was in the Houston area but also trained at Sam Houston State
and briefly in New York. She has also performed with several dance companies and Groups over the years. She
now enjoys sharing the knowledge she received from all of her talented teachers and has a commitment to pass on to future
dancers a love, respect and understanding of proper dance technique.
Cynthia has been dedicated to teaching proper ballet technique and is available to do private
coaching for serious students who are interested in progressing their technique.

in traditional technique combined with the latest styles to enjoy dance for a lifetime."

Our History
Backstage has been in operation since 1980. Through the years Backstage
has consistently provided a quality dance curriculum for the beginner through the advanced student. Backstage has trained
past students who have gone on to be in professional Ballet Companies such as Tulsa Ballet, Pittsburg Ballet to name a few.
Trained former students who now own their own dance studios. Trained students who are currently teaching in dance
related fields. We have provided the proper training for careers in dance and dance related fields as well as dance
for recreation.
Backstage has grown and expanded
over the years to offer 2 beautiful and convenient locations for the Conroe/Montgomery areas. We are located
in Conroe right off of North Frazier or at the beautiful Waterpoint Center on 105 west towards Montgomery.We are here
to serve you .
Backstage
offers a complete program in Pre-school,Ballet, Pointe,Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Lyrical,and
Modern. For ages 3 through adult and beginner
through advanced.
Performance Opportunities
"The Nutcracker Ballet" - presented every other December at Conroe High School
Competition Dance Ensemble'- Competitions in March/April
Annual Recital - presented at Conroe High School (either May or June)
